About Us

Israel Day Hawaii is a Federally recognized 501(c)3 Non-profit organization.  Our mission is to create an awareness and understanding of the modern State of Israel here in Honolulu. This includes exposing the local community to Israel's culture, dance, food, language, and art.  Also the similarities, like beaches and surfers, beautiful people, multiculturalism, and democracy.

Education is the key to both tolerance and acceptance.

Israel Day Hawaii is an educational organization formed and maintained for the purposes detailed as follows. 

First, the Israel Day Hawaii Committee shall be the primary organizers and sponsors of the Annual Israel Day Hawaii Festival held each year in Honolulu, Hawaii.  This festival is free and open to the public.  It is to be held annually on a day as close as possible to the anniversary of birth of the modern state of Israel.  The purposes of this festival, as well as all other activities of this committee, are to foster educational activities relating to honoring and commemorating this anniversary and to promote awareness of the cultural, political, scientific, religious activities and ethnic diversity found within the nation of Israel. 

Second, the committee shall also engage in other activities throughout the year intended to foster the general awareness of the accomplishments, challenges and activities related to the existence of the modern state of Israel as described above. 

Third, all fundraising activities engaged in by the Israel Day Hawaii Committee shall solely be for the purposes described above.  Funds will be solicited from private individuals, non-profit foundations or corporations interested in supporting these activities.
